Sports, Fitness & Recreation

Sports, fitness and recreation programs at BGCCC are designed to build sportsmanship and encourage teamwork. Programs in this key area help develop fitness basics, a positive use of leisure time, reduction of stress, appreciations for the environment and social and interpersonal skills.

Cal Ripken Baseball

Cal Ripken is designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball and softball to children ages 5 to 12. The Club in conjunction with The Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation helps youth to build character through baseball and softball themed activities.

The program is divided into character lessons and boosters (reviews). Quickball is an active game integrated as a fitness component to the program, where members work together and learn sportsmanship, leadership, respect, communication and the ability to make good decisions to lead to a successful life. In addition, monthly baseball / softball clinics are offered to members on Saturdays to assist in building these skills.

Athletic Leagues

The Boys & Girls Club of Collier County provides quality athletic programs for the community’s at-risk youth. The organization utilizes organized and structured athletics as a tool to enlighten and cultivate the development of well-rounded youth through establishing a foundation of the following life skills: Academic Success, Good Character & Citizenship, Healthy Lifestyles, Responsibility, Sense of Pride, Sportsmanship, Self-Control, Smart Decisions, Teamwork, Leadership, Integrity, and Perseverance.

We are constantly enhancing the use of our sports leagues and we are working to improve all aspects of the leagues so that we can continue to optimize your child's experience! We know that sports are a huge part of your child's life experience and this inspires us to continue to take steps to improve our program.

We offer the best experience in both recreational and competitive co-ed sports. We've been at this location since 2000 and continue to follow our mission: "To enable all young people, especially those who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens." Triple Play

Triple Play, BGCCC’s comprehensive health and wellness program, developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, strives to improve the overall health of Club members ages 6-18 by increasing their daily physical activity, teaching them good nutrition and helping them develop healthy relationships.

The Mind component encourages young people to eat smart through the Healthy Habits program, which covers the power of choice, calories, vitamins and minerals, the food pyramid and appropriate portion size. The Body component boosts Clubs’ traditional physical activities to a higher level by providing sports and fitness activities for all youth. Body programs include six Daily Fitness Challenges; teen Sports Clubs focused on leadership development, service and careers in athletics; and Triple Play Games Tournaments, inter-Club sectional tournaments that involve multiple team sports. The Soul component helps build positive relationships and cooperation among young people.
