Meet Jayla

After completing their homework, Club members channel their energy positively through Sports & Recreation programs. Club members have been taking advantage of the cooler weather and participating in a variety of outdoor activities, such as kickball, soccer, hula hooping, jump roping, soccer, handball and the ever-popular chalk walks.

These activities enhance their teamwork skills and foster collaboration. As they participate, students are encouraged to discuss the rules, demonstrate their understanding of the game, and improve their awareness of their surroundings. The chalk walks are fun and popular activities that help members showcase their artistic talents as they creatively decorate the sidewalks. Whether members compete against Youth Development Professionals or team up with their peers, the interactive games foster a sense of community and create memorable experiences.

Programs in this core area include: Personal Fitness, Badges for Baseball, Intro to Sports, and Sports Leagues.

Health & Life Skills

Teens are developing their critical thinking and teamwork skills—as well as their patience—by tackling a 1,000-piece puzzle. This activity encourages problem-solving, collaboration, and perseverance, all essential skills for personal and academic growth. As they work together in a fun and engaging way to complete the challenge, they are also building healthy habits such as focus, determination, and resilience.

Teens also designed a 2025 Bingo card, mapping out goals they aim to achieve in the coming year. These goals span across educational, personal, and career-related aspirations, encouraging them to strive for growth in multiple areas of their lives. Using the SMART goals framework, they carefully outlined their objectives, ensuring they are Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound. This interactive and motivational activity helps members stay focused and gives them a fun way to track their progress and celebrate their achievements along the way.

Programs in this core area include: L.E.A.D. (Law Enforcement Against Drugs), Healthy Choices Healthy Children, and SMART Moves.

  • The Torch Club participated in the Immokalee Cattle Drive to promote the program and become familiar with the community. We will be at events with the membership and programming teams to promote the Club’s Summer Camp.
  • Programming staff from Bolch will be participating in the Lipman 5k Run in Ave Maria on Saturday, March 29, to support fundraising for backpacks that will be distributed to the Immokalee students before the next school year begins. Fifth graders and teens have been selected to participate as representatives of the Club.
  • Also on March 29, Healthcare Network is hosting free dental screenings in the parking lot of the Bolch Club in Immokalee. Family members who are screened will also receive information about our Clubs and the upcoming Summer Camps.

Join us for a tour of the Nichols Club and hear directly from our Club members about how Boys & Girls Club of Collier County has shaped their lives. Come experience the programs, meet our inspiring members, and see how we’re building great futures every day!
