“Dance is my voice, my journey. Dance provides me with a way to navigate through life, cope with stress, experience happiness, live in moments, and provide memories in a picture. The Boys & Girls Club always encouraged development of my dancing and my art skills.”
Abigail
Meet Abigail, 17, a junior attending Immokalee High School. She has been a Bolch Club member for seven years. Abigail says that every moment she has spent at the Boys & Girls Club has been an adventure and she is so appreciative of the opportunities that the Club has provided.
Abigail started attending the Boys & Girls Club in the 4th grade. Since then, she has participated in programs such as Youth of the Year, Keystone Club, and the South West Florida STRIDE program. Additionally, she has had the opportunity to speak to the Board of Boys & Girls Clubs of Collier County about her experience on Club-sponsored trips. She also was presented an award for Improvement of Academic and Mental Health by the Collier County School Board Chair.
Today, Abigail is an active participant of our Junior Culinary Arts program. In the Summer of 2021, she worked full-time in the kitchen at the Bolch Club and gained career and technical education training. She is now working part-time after-school when she does not have practice for Color Guard.
